IN THE WEEDS (2015)

 

In The Weeds is a short dramatic film that tells the story of Sloane, a woman in her early twenties who is growing more and more fed up with her job as a waitress. When her roommate, Jena, doesn’t return home from a party, Sloane struggles to contain the anxiety built up inside her, until her frustration boils over.

 

In The Weeds was written, directed, co-produced and edited by Joy Webster. Since its premiere at Ryerson University Film Festival in May 2015, In The Weeds has gone on to screen at numerous film festivals, and has become an award winning film.

 

In The Weeds had its nationwide broadcast premiere on CBC's Canadian Reflections in October 2016.
